David W. Griffin, MD, FACS, FAAOS is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon. His practice includes non-surgical and surgical options for the arthritic hip and knee, arthroscopic surgery, shoulder problems, fracture care, and all muscle, bone, and joint problems. Dr.Griffin was born in Atlanta, Georgia, the son of Cecil and Olive Griffin.

His undergraduate work was completed at Rhodes College in Memphis. While attending Rhodes, he met his wife, Sheila Cannon. Dr. and Mrs. Griffin married on December 19, 1970.

The Medical College of Georgia awarded Dr. Griffin his medical degree in 1973. Dr. Griffin began his internship at Letterman Hosptial in San Francisco. After two years as an Army Flight Surgeon in Hawaii, he started his general surgical residency at the City of Memphis Hospital. Upon completion of a year of general surgery, Dr. Griffin began his training at the Orthopaedic Program at Campbell Clinic in Memphis.

Dr. Griffin is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and Fellow, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is also a Member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and the Florida Orthopaedic Society. He was very instrumental in the development of the Joint Implant Center of the Treasure Coast at Indian River Memorial Hosptial and was the director for many years. His other affiliations include the Treasure Coast Rehabilitation Hospital and Grove Place Surgery Center. Dr. Griffin is currently a consultant for DePuy/Johnson and Johnson and has traveled extensively as a teaching surgeon. He is currently a clinical investigator for several studies, hoping to bring "state of the art"technology to his patients in Vero Beach.
