  Timothy R. Heyne , M.D.
Orthopedic Surgeon

specialty: Shoulder, hip and knee problems
Dr. Heyne is a board certified orthopedic surgeon who focuses on problems of the shoulder, hip and knee. The majority of his patients are adults with disabling problems such as injuries or arthritis who seek to relieve their pain and return to regular activity. Dr. Heyne's practice includes sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery, minimal or small incision joint replacement procedures, torn tendon and ligament repairs, and fracture treatment.

Dr. Heyne performs the innovative anterior total muscle sparing hip replacement technique that has shortened the patient's recovery time to weeks rather than months. Dr. Heyne also stays current regarding minimal and small incision knee replacement procedures including hemiarthroplasty or partial knee replacement.

After graduating with honors in Professional Chemistry from Case Western Reserve University, Dr. Heyne obtained his medical degree from Ohio State University College of Medicine. He then completed a five year orthopedic surgery training program at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

After serving as a U.S. Army Medical Corp Officer and two years of solo practice in Ohio, Dr. Heyne moved to Salinas in 1989. He is on the Medical Executive Committee at the Salinas Surgery Center and served as a Medical Staff Officer and on the Quality Assurance Committee at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital. Dr. Heyne is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is board certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
